KOSICE "SLOVAKIA"

Since it still fresh, I am going to tell you about our recent trip to Slovakia.

Our departure takes place from the Zurich Airport at 6 am towards Bratislava for a short lay over.

We board another plane straight out to Kosice the second biggest city in the country.

We land at 4 :30 pm when we meet up with Stephanie who will be our driver for the next five days.

She takes us straight to the villa where we are going to spend the night.

We take off to a local restaurant for dinner to eat some goulaj, a typical Slovak dish, before going to bed around 11 pm.

The very next day, we stroll around the city before heading out to a little party that Stephanie organized for us. We can hear many tongues : slovak, English, French, Hebrew.
A good mix of cultures and a kick ass night for us.

In the morning, we take a train to Hungary to Miskolc for our first show. Unfortunately, it is taking place outside.
The show is called off because of the pouring rain. We are a bit bummed out but the warm welcome mellows things out.

The next day, we get back to Kosice for the Music fest. We play a 30 minute set in the afternoon to promote the evening show.
The weather is with us much to our satisfaction. The show goes without an itch, we are ready to take on the night. We begin the show at 8pm instead of the scheduled 1 :30pm set.

Around 10 pm, I announce our last song but it seems impossible to stop : the public is hot and feeling the tunes.

I take a short break and continue on til midnight. The promoter admits he has never seen so many people in his hall.

Our last day is off. We decide to hang around and check out the Slovak paradise.
We take a walk in a park where bears supposedly roam freely. We spot none but still marvel at the sights.

The evening is spent at a restaurant, eating amazing food, drinking, in the company of our hosts.

What I remember from this short trip is a lot of good times, a very warm welcome, good food, a developing country full of hope, enthusiasm and life.
